ABOUT JADA
I'm Shantell Jada Robinson, a proud Black lesbian woman with roots in New York—born in NY, raised in Harlem and Highbridge.
My story is like many of ours—navigating a world that rarely made space for women like me. Walking through life, I kept asking; Where are our stories? Where do we see ourselves celebrated?
That question became my mission.
Growing up as a Black lesbian woman without much wasn't easy. I witnessed firsthand how our experiences often go unseen or get lumped into broader narratives. I promised myself that if I ever had the opportunity to shine a light on the lesbian community, I would create a platform where our stories, dreams, and triumphs could finally stand center stage.
Lez Rain Magazine isn't just something I created—it's something I needed. A home where lesbian voices aren't just included but centered. Where our joy, style, struggles, and triumphs take the spotlight they deserve.
This is more than just a magazine—it's a movement that seeks to showcase our community's resilience, creativity, and unapologetic spirit.
